Privacy notice.
How Praeclaria Education collects, uses, and protects the personal data of applicants, students, and the families and consultants who contact us.
Who this notice covers
This notice applies to prospective and admitted students, their parents or guardians, and educational consultants or other parties who submit information through this site or in the course of an application or enrolment. Because many of our students are minors, we apply heightened care to the data we hold about them.
What we collect
- Application data: name, email, school and country, expected graduation year, placement of interest, the written response submitted, and any optional work sample.
- Inquiry data: name, email, country, the capacity in which you write, and the content of your message.
- Enrolment data, for admitted students: information needed to administer the placement, arrange supervision, and issue completion and reference documentation.
- Parent or guardian details where a student is a minor, for consent and communication.
We do not run advertising or behavioural tracking on this site, and we do not set non-essential cookies.
How we use it
We use personal data to review applications, communicate with applicants and families, administer placements, match students to supervisors, issue completion and reference documentation, and meet our legal and administrative obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use student work or student data to train third-party models.
Consent for minors
Where an applicant is a minor, we require the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian before enrolment. A parent or guardian may review the personal data we hold about their child, request corrections, or request deletion, subject to records we are required to retain.
Lawful basis
For applicants and families in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, we rely on consent, on steps taken at your request prior to entering an agreement, on the performance of that agreement, and on our legitimate interests in operating a selective admissions process. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Residents of California (under the CCPA/CPRA) have rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell or share personal information. Where the PIPL applies, we obtain separate consent for any cross-border transfer and explain its purpose. To exercise any right, write to the contact below.
Sharing and transfers
We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run the placement and the application process — for example, form and email infrastructure and the supervising firm involved in a student's placement — under appropriate confidentiality terms. Where data is transferred across borders, we use recognised safeguards for that transfer.
Retention and security
We keep application data only as long as needed to run the admissions cycle and to maintain the records we are required to keep, after which it is deleted or anonymised. We apply administrative and technical measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, with particular care for information about minors.
