Terms of enrolment.

The terms on which Praeclaria offers its placements. The controlling enrolment agreement is provided in writing with the offer of admission and is signed before any tuition is paid; this page summarises its key terms.

Admission and enrolment

Placements are offered by written application review and are subject to capacity and supervisor availability. An offer of admission is confirmed by a signed enrolment agreement. Where a student is a minor, a parent or guardian must sign and provide consent.

Tuition, cancellation, and refunds

Tuition is set out in the enrolment agreement and is payable on the schedule stated there. A student or family may cancel within the period stated in the agreement for a refund as described there; after a placement begins, refunds are pro-rated according to the agreement and applicable law. Fees for work already supervised are not refundable except where required by law.

Conduct

Students are expected to engage seriously, meet agreed deadlines, and treat supervisors and staff with respect. We may pause or end a placement for conduct that is dishonest, abusive, or materially disruptive, as described under termination below.

Use of AI in applications and work

Students may use language models the way working analysts do — for code, for editing, and for working through methods — but the thinking and the work must be the student's own. An applicant confirms that their application reflects their own thinking and that they are prepared to discuss anything they have submitted. Misrepresenting authorship is grounds for withdrawal of an offer or termination of a placement.

Ownership of student work

Work a student produces during a placement belongs to the student. Praeclaria and the supervising firm retain the right to retain copies for their records and to reference the work in connection with the placement. Supervisor feedback and any reference documentation are provided for the student's own use.

Reference and completion documentation

Completion and reference documentation are issued at the discretion of the supervising researcher and the firm, and are earned by the quality of the work. A reference letter is not guaranteed by enrolment or by payment of tuition.

What a placement does not provide

  • No admissions outcome is promised or implied. Praeclaria does not guarantee admission to any university or program.
  • No offer of employment is promised or implied. A placement is an educational engagement, not a job offer, at Praeclaria or at any firm.
  • No access to firm capital, live trading systems, confidential positions, client information, or restricted internal materials. Students work only with approved public-market or synthetic data.
  • No investment advice. Nothing produced in a placement is investment, legal, tax, or financial advice, and nothing on this site is an offer or solicitation.

Termination

Either party may end a placement as set out in the enrolment agreement. Praeclaria may end a placement for serious or repeated breaches of these terms or for conduct that makes continuation untenable; in that event, refunds follow the agreement and applicable law.

Governing law

These terms and the enrolment agreement are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and disputes are resolved as described in the enrolment agreement.
